Big Weekend for Keeneland, UK Football

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 11. 2013) — Start the weekend off right with "see blue." day at Keeneland today.

On Friday, Oct. 11, the first 150 members to show their membership card at the University of Kentucky Alumni Association table, located at “The Hill,” will receive a free gift.

At noon, UK Alumni Association will hold a pep rally featuring the UK Cheerleaders and Pep Band. Everyone is encouraged to wear blue to show their Big Blue pride and support the Cats.

Additional events include an Alabama vs. UK Handicapping Challenge in support of each team’s dance marathon philanthropies – UADM and DanceBlue.

On Saturday, Oct. 12, Lextran is offering shuttles to and from Commonwealth Stadium and Keeneland to accommodate sports fans who wish to see live horse racing in the afternoon and the UK vs. Alabama football game set for 7 p.m. that night.

The fare for the shuttle is $1 each way.

Pick-up at Commonwealth Stadium will be in the North Red Lot by University and Cooper Drives. After a day of racing, take the shuttle back to Commonwealth for the football game at 7 p.m. For more information on the shuttle times and locations, visit this Lextran site.

For those who do not plan on attending the races, you can still ride the shuttle from campus or downtown to Commonwealth Stadium. Shuttle routes, pick-up and drop off locations are available here.

A limited number of tickets are still available for this Saturday’s game. Tickets are $75 each and are located in the upper level general admission area (sections 200-210). Seating is first come, first served. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Ticket Office at 1-800-928-2287 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday.
