Avenue of Champions to close on Monday

LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 9, 2025) – Contractors are scheduled to begin milling and repaving Avenue of Champions on Monday, May 12. This work will require closure of both east and westbound lanes from South Limestone to Rose Street.
The work is weather dependent and is expected to last approximately two weeks.
During this time, the Gatton Student Center Visitor Lot will be unavailable. Student center and Visitor Center patrons can instead park in nearby Cornerstone Garage (PS #5) on South Limestone.
The campus Blue and White bus routes will also be impacted by this street closure.

- Singletary Center
- College of Fine Arts
- Columbia Avenue
White Route buses will also bypass Avenue of Champions, traveling from Woodland Avenue to High Street, then taking a left onto Upper Street.
The following White Route stops will be unavailable:
- Greek Park
- Rose Lane
- Memorial Coliseum
- Jewell Hall
- Winslow Street
Sidewalks along Avenue of Champions will remain open. Pedestrians and cyclists should exercise caution in the area.
