On-Campus Forums Planned for Presidential Search

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Dec. 16, 2010) – The University of Kentucky Presidential Search Committee will convene open forums for faculty, students and staff early next year to gather input about the characteristics and qualities desired for UK’s 12th president.

“The search committee would like to hear the perspectives of faculty, students and staff about the experiences, skills and style that the next president of the university should possess,” said Jim Stuckert, chair of the presidential search committee. “Those insights and observations will be invaluable as the search committee begins to evaluate candidates and refine the requirements for the position.”

Forums will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Jan. 28, 2011, at the William T. Young Library Auditorium in room I-62:

The faculty forum will be from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

The student forum will be from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 .am.

The forum for administration and staff will be from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Following the forums, the presidential search committee will hold a meeting at 2:30 p.m. on the 18th Floor of Patterson Office Tower in the Board Room.

In September, current UK President Lee T. Todd Jr. announced he would step down at the end of June after 10 years as UK’s 11th president. UK Board of Trustees Chairman Britt Brockman, who named the search committee, has said he anticipates the board extending an offer to UK’s 12th president in May.
