Center for Community Outreach Hosting On-Campus Blood Drive

LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 2, 2018) —  The Center for Community Outreach at University of Kentucky is partnering with the Kentucky Blood Center to host an on-campus blood drive April 2-6 at several locations across campus.

For 50 years, the Kentucky Blood Center has saved lives of Kentuckians through blood drives. All blood that is collected by the center stays in the state of Kentucky. The Kentucky Blood Center services 70 medical facilities across 90 Kentucky counties.

The Kentucky Blood Center is the sole provider of blood products for UK HealthCare. UK HealthCare houses a level 1 trauma center, a transplant center, a cancer facility and serves as a referral facility for seriously ill patients which generates a higher demand for blood than any other hospital serviced by the Kentucky Blood Center.
