Connect with UK Human Resources during benefits open enrollment

LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 17, 2024) — The Human Resources team at the University of Kentucky is available to connect in multiple ways this year with employees who have questions about their benefits open enrollment.

This year’s enrollment period is April 22 to May 3. It is the annual opportunity for UK employees to select their health insurance and other plans for the year that begins July 1. Any employee who wants to begin or continue having a flexible spending account for either health care or dependent care must also actively enroll during the open enrollment period.

Now is the time for employees to explore all their health insurance and other options and choose the plans that best meet their needs. More information is available at hr.uky.edu/oe.

For employees who have questions, the Benefits team from UK Human Resources is available in multiple ways:

  • Email benefits@uky.edu

  • Call 859-257-9519, option 3

  • If an employee has additional questions beyond an initial phone call, the HR Benefits team can schedule a 15-minute individual consultation to better understand all our insurance options.

  • Attend an open house to meet with representatives from HR Benefits and other vendors for dental, vision and other benefit plans. A full schedule is available at hr.uky.edu/oe

Employees may also attend a webinar to learn more about health insurance and other benefits available:

HR is also collaborating with Staff Senate to offer two virtual open houses:

As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and health care. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $476.5 million research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.

In 2022, UK was ranked by Forbes as one of the “Best Employers for New Grads” and named a “Diversity Champion” by INSIGHT into Diversity, a testament to our commitment to advance Kentucky and create a community of belonging for everyone. While our mission looks different in many ways than it did in 1865, the vision of service to our Commonwealth and the world remains the same. We are the University for Kentucky.
