All UK undergraduate and graduate students are welcome to participate. Registrants will have the opportunity to network with potential employers from more than 30 organizations, including Lexington Children’s Theatre, Fayette County Public Schools Fine Arts Department, Kentucky Educational Television, Central Bank Center (aka Rupp Arena/ Lexington Opera House), Actors Theatre of Louisville and Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning.
“The Department of Arts Administration is deeply committed to preparing students for success in the creative workforce,” said Professor Rachel Shane, Ph.D., Gary B. Knapp Endowed Chair of Arts Administration. “The career fair is part of that mission by creating opportunities for students to engage with arts leaders, explore career pathways and build the professional relationships that will support their future in the arts and creative industries.
“Our goal is to help students envision how their skills and passions can shape meaningful and sustainable arts careers.”
Students will have the opportunity to meet and engage with leaders in the industry, gaining invaluable insights into how to develop sustainable, fulfilling careers in arts and culture after graduation.
The Arts and Culture Career Fair is part of the department’s broader commitment to workplace development and fostering lasting connections between the academic community and the professional arts world. The dress code is business attire, and participants are asked to provide printed copies of their resume as well as digital versions of work samples.
Students can register to attend online for free.
University of Kentucky’s Department of Arts Administration develops and advances a strong arts and cultural workforce through teaching, research and service.
As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and health care. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $476.5 million research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.
