Independence Day Bus Service and Parking Control Changes

LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 1, 2019)  In observance of the Independence Day holiday, University of Kentucky Transportation Services will not operate campus bus service on Thursday, July 4. This includes the Blue and White routes (Lextran 14), the Green Connector Route (Lextran 26) and the Orange Route (UK HealthCare). In addition, campus parking lots and structures will be off control on July 4.

UK HealthCare employees are authorized to park in patient and visitor parking facilities on official university holidays, with the exception of the parking facilities at the emergency departments and Markey Cancer Center, main entry drives, or areas otherwise signed or restricted. Please see UK HealthCare’s parking policy for additional information regarding parking on official university holidays.

All campus bus service and parking lot and garage control will return to normal operation Friday, July 5.

As a reminder, all campus routes — as well as the Red Mile (Lextran 15) service frequently used by the campus community — are viewable in real time on TransLoc Rider, UK’s GPS-based bus locating system. TransLoc Rider can be accessed at http://uky.transloc.com and via the free TransLoc Rider Android and iPhone apps.
