LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 24, 2022) — Everyone is busy juggling work and home responsibilities, grocery shopping being one of those chores. Now, University of Kentucky employees and students can check this shopping job off their list before heading home.

UK and Kroger have partnered to add the southwest corner of the Kroger Field Orange Lot as a pick-up location for online grocery orders.

Online grocery shopping has grown in popularity in recent years, whether one does all their shopping online, or simply uses the service to purchase a few last-minute items. The process of online ordering is easy.

Simply create an account by visiting www.Kroger.com. Add a payment method and choose your preferred pick-up location. The Kroger Field location is listed as “Hometown Pickup – Kroger Field.” Add items to your cart, choose your desired pick-up time and check out.

Pick-up days and times for the Orange Lot are currently as follows, and were designed to coincide as closely as possible with employee work schedules:

  • Mondays: 4-8 p.m.;
  • Thursdays: 4-8 p.m.;
  • Fridays: 5-7 p.m.; and
  • Saturdays: 9 a.m.-noon.

Your groceries will be ready at your chosen pick-up time. Signed parking spaces for temporary pick-up purposes are located nearby.

As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and health care. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $476.5 million research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.

In 2022, UK was ranked by Forbes as one of the “Best Employers for New Grads” and named a “Diversity Champion” by INSIGHT into Diversity, a testament to our commitment to advance Kentucky and create a community of belonging for everyone. While our mission looks different in many ways than it did in 1865, the vision of service to our Commonwealth and the world remains the same. We are the University for Kentucky.
