LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 31, 2018) In observance of the Labor Day holiday, most regular University of Kentucky campus bus routes will not operate on Monday, Sept. 3. This will include the Blue and White Routes (Lextran 14), the Green Route Connector (Lextran 26), the Orange Route (UK HealthCare Route) and the Pink Route (Kentucky Clinic Route).

Students, staff and faculty will have access to campus bus service Monday, Sept. 3, via the Yellow Route (Lextran 27), a route that typically runs on Sundays but will instead operate on the holiday in lieu of the Blue, White and Green Routes. The Yellow Route operates noon to midnight and runs between Kroger Field and north campus, focusing on serving heavily trafficked student areas.

All bus service will return to normal operation Tuesday, Sept. 4. For route and schedule details, visit www.uky.edu/transportation/buses-and-shuttles.

The Gatton Student Center visitor parking lot will be closed to the general public Friday, Aug. 31, through Monday, Sept. 3, for multiple Labor Day weekend events at the Student Center. The 119-space visitor lot is located immediately to the east of the facility with entrances at the intersection of Avenue of Champions and Lexington Avenue.

General visitor parking will be available free-of-charge beginning 4 p.m. Friday through 6 p.m. Monday in the South Limestone Garage (PS 5), located to the west of the Gatton Student Center at 409 S. Limestone. The Student Center is a convenient three-minute walk from the garage via the pedestrian bridge to Administration Hill. Vehicles may access the garage from either the South Limestone or South Upper Street entrances.

Numerous events will take place at the Gatton Student Center beginning on Friday, including grand opening celebration activities during the day and concerts Friday evening. UK Student and Academic Life has planned a wide assortment of “Labor Stay” activities throughout the holiday weekend, including movies, glow campus dance party, football gameday watch parties, yoga, mini-golf, bingo, trivia and bumper cars.
