New Location for Todds' Tenure Celebration

LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 12, 2011) – Today at 3 p.m. in the Lexmark Room of the Main Building, the campus community is celebrating the tenure of UK President Lee T. Todd Jr. and First Lady Patsy Todd.  Due to persistent rain, the location has been moved to the Lexmark Room.

Everyone is welcome to attend.   Attendees will be admitted until the room reaches capacity.

In September 2010, President Todd announced that he was retiring after 10 years of leading the University of Kentucky.

Today’s celebration, hosted by Student Government, will celebrate the more than 10 years of service that the first family has given to the university with an ice cream social and speakers as well as a special address from the president himself.

“President and First Lady Todd have been such an asset to this campus and they will be greatly missed,” Student Government President Ryan Smith said. “It is our pleasure to plan a celebration for the campus community to honor the first family of UK.”

Students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends are encouraged to attend. If you would like to leave well wishes for the Todds, click here to leave your message electronically.

In the event of inclement weather, the celebration will be moved to the Singletary Center for the Arts.

For those who cannot attend, Wildcat Student Television will live stream the celebration here on UKNow beginning at 2:30 p.m.
