OLLI at UK Offers Spring 2012 Registration in Somerset

LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 2, 2012) − Are you an adult age 50 or more and love to learn?  Would you like to meet people who have the same interests?  The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at the University of Kentucky will offer a dessert, coffee and class registration in Somerset from 1- 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, at the Somerset Community College, CNB Community Room in the Harold Rogers Student Commons. 

At the event, persons will have the opportunity to preview a selection of courses, discuss special interest groups and upcoming special events, chat with instructors, meet the OLLI Leadership Council and sign up to help with committees, enjoy refreshments, and register for door prizes. 

This spring, OLLI at UK will be offering the following courses:  New Technologies:  iOS, Android, and eReaders; Your Bucket List; Beginning Acrylic Painting; JKF Assassination Parts I and II; Civil War Year by Year: 1862; and Common Medical Issues of Aging.  A special interest group will be offered on Writing Your Family History. 

Registration is on a first-come basis.  The Dessert, Coffee and Registration begins at 1 p.m. with dessert; instructor presentations begin at 1:15 p.m; and registration tables will be open from 1:45 - 3 p.m.  The spring semester membership is $10.  Course fees vary, but most are $10.  Registration materials are in the mail.
