You can now use the ParkMobile app to pay for hourly parking on campus.

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 24, 2021) — Did you know that you can pay for hourly parking on campus via the ParkMobile app? You don’t have to feed the meter, just access the app on your phone and pay from your vehicle.

Just last year, ParkMobile and University of Kentucky Transportation Services created a partnership that enables visitors, students, staff and faculty to skip the meter and pay by a contactless payment service, available at the William T. Young Library and Gatton Student Center visitor lots and many parking meters campuswide.

Visitors can use the app to quickly pay for parking and can also easily extend their time, subject to maximum time limits. The app is available for both for both iPhone and Android devices and is easy to use:

  • Download the ParkMobile app to your iPhone or Android device.
  • Create an account with your email address and license plate number (make sure you have the correct and complete license plate number, both numbers and letters, listed in your account).
  • Add a payment method.
  • Locate the ParkMobile zone depicted on signage and/or meters in the lot.

To pay for parking, enter the zone number posted on the stickers and signs around the parking space. Select the duration of time needed and touch the “Start Parking” button to begin the session. Users can extend the time on their mobile device without having to go back to the meter or pay station. The app will also push notifications to the user’s phone that alerts them before their parking session expires.

One important caveat to remember is that the license plate number listed in your ParkMobile account must be correct and complete. Otherwise, users may receive a citation. If you do use the ParkMobile app to pay for a meter and receive a citation before your allotted time is up, please email our office to request a review.

ParkMobile is already familiar to many people in Kentucky as well as other municipalities throughout the country. Many other cities, universities and airports use the ParkMobile app.

As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and health care. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $476.5 million research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.

In 2022, UK was ranked by Forbes as one of the “Best Employers for New Grads” and named a “Diversity Champion” by INSIGHT into Diversity, a testament to our commitment to advance Kentucky and create a community of belonging for everyone. While our mission looks different in many ways than it did in 1865, the vision of service to our Commonwealth and the world remains the same. We are the University for Kentucky.
