LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 23, 2022)  The University of Kentucky Parent and Family Association, part of the Office for Student Success, is welcoming all Wildcats and their families to join us in the Bluegrass for Family Weekend from Sept. 23-25, 2022. This will give parents a chance to experience a weekend on campus and learn about all the traditions and programs UK has to offer while making lifelong memories with their Wildcats. Family Weekend has been a tradition for years, and you will not want to miss it!

Student Program Specialist, Nicki Jenkins, says that they are expecting record- breaking numbers for this year's Family Weekend and some exciting new changes are to be expected. They have shifted one of the signature events, the Family Weekend Tent Party, to South Lawn to better accommodate more attendees and add more fun activities.

With large crowds anticipated, families should plan to walk and/or ride a shuttle or bus around campus since parking cannot be guaranteed close to their destination. Events will take place rain or shine, so plan accordingly.

With a record-breaking number of Family Weekend participants this year, it may be helpful to plan ahead based on how your family wants to spend the weekend.

Late registration is still open for all students and guests looking to attend at $65 per person up until Sept. 23. Registration for Family Weekend will include entry to all signature events (Family Weekend Welcome Reception, Family Weekend Tent Party, A Taste of the Kentucky Doughnut Trail); meals at all of these events; entry to many other Family Weekend events throughout the weekend; and a 2022 Family Weekend T-shirt that will be distributed only at the Family Weekend Tent Party.

All Family Weekend registrants will need to check in to receive more information and their event entry wristbands. Early check-in opportunities are available prior to Family Weekend, so families can send their students over to the Gatton Student Center to avoid long lines when they arrive on campus.
