On the Road: Alumni Tailgate Tour to Louisville, Oxford

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 27, 2010) -- The University of Kentucky Alumni Association’s Tailgate Tour 2010 is hitting the road. Destination: Louisville on Sept. 4 and Oxford, Miss. on Oct. 2.

UK alumni and friends can gather for pre-game fun courtesy of the alumni Tailgate Tour featuring a catered meal and a special appearance by the UK Band and UK Cheerleaders at both events.

The Kentucky vs. Louisville tailgate event begins at 1 p.m. in front of Gate 17 on the grounds of Churchill Downs at 700 Central Avenue in Louisville. Parking is free and the event location is just a short walk from the stadium. Cost is just $5 for students, $10 for members and $15 for nonmembers and includes a catered lunch from Mark's Feed Store featuring barbeque, side items, tea and water. A cash bar will be available. Make your reservation at www.ukalumni.net/tailgate. Kickoff for the game is at 3:30 p.m. at Papa John’s Cardinal Stadium.

The Kentucky vs. Ole Miss tailgate event begins 2 ½ hours before game kick off (TBA). The event will take place at The Lyric, located at 1006 VanBuren Avenue, on Oxford Square in downtown Oxford, Miss. There are several free parking lots available downtown and the Vaught-Hemingway Stadium is nearby. Participants can look for the blue and white balloons outside the venue. Cost is $5 for students, $10 for members and $15 for nonmembers and includes a catered meal from Taylor Grocery, which features southern barbeque, side items, dessert, tea and water.
