Temporary road closure planned for Huguelet Drive
LEXINGTON, KY (March 28, 2025) – A delivery of steel beams scheduled for Saturday, March 29, will require partial closure of Huguelet Drive between University Drive and Rose Street.
The roadway is expected to be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, weather permitting. The back up steel delivery date is Sunday, March 30. Flaggers will be on-site.
A crane will be positioned in the roadway to unload steel onto the Rankin Health Education Building site. Left and right turn lanes from University Drive onto Huguelet will be unavailable.
The Markey Cancer Center Visitor Lot will remain open, however, those exiting the lot will only be able to turn left onto Huguelet Drive. Huguelet Drive at the Rose Street intersection will be exit only.
The sidewalk on the north side of Huguelet will remain available, and cyclists will be able to use that pathway as well.
