Temporary Traffic Lights Installed at Campus Intersections
The temporary light has been installed at the intersection of Avenue of Champions and Martin Luther King.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 8, 2018) — Temporary traffic lights have been installed at the intersection of Lexington Avenue and Avenue of Champions as well as the intersection between Avenue of Champions and Martin Luther King Boulevard. They will remain in place until permanent mast arms are installed in the future.
The temporary traffic lights were installed to help control a larger volume of pedestrian traffic from the new Gatton Student Center as well as the new student housing north of Avenue of Champions. The hope is the installation of new signals will help minimize vehicle and pedestrian conflict in these intersections.
Traffic delays are not anticipated, and alternate routes are not needed at this time.
