LEXINGTON, Ky. (Aug. 2, 2023) — University of Kentucky Transportation Services is making it even easier to pay fast on your phone using UK Parking MobilePay at meters and in visitor pay lots throughout campus.

UK Parking MobilePay replaces ParkMobile as the method to quickly pay for hourly parking. This new text-to-pay service is easy to use and doesn’t require users to download an app or create an account. Additionally, Transportation Services has eliminated the $0.35 convenience fee previously required when using ParkMobile. Users now only pay the hourly rate without additional burdensome fees.

MobilePay is a browser-based solution. Users will simply text the meter or lot location identification number to 25023. The identification number will be clearly posted on signage in the area. You’ll receive a secure link to the TEXT2PARK website via a text message. Simply follow the link, enter your license plate number, payment information and parking duration directly from your smartphone. Lock your vehicle and proceed to your destination!

Useful features include the option to receive parking expiration notices and to extend your parking time via your phone.

UK Parking MobilePay also natively integrates with the university’s existing parking software and pay stations, bringing all the university’s parking transaction data together into a single system.

“Over the past few years, we have seen rapid growth in the adoption of mobile pay among the campus community when paying for hourly parking,” said Lance Broeking, UK Transportation Services director. “We fully expect that the convenience, simplicity, and fee-free nature of our next generation of mobile pay will be well received and continue to grow in popularity.”

Hourly parking rates on campus remain the same ($2/hour) and users will still have the option to pay by cash and/or credit card at parking meters throughout campus and in pay lot locations at the Gatton Student Center and the William T. Young Library.
