LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 24, 2026) — As part of a regularly scheduled federal training program, the University of Kentucky Police Department will host a law enforcement training April 28 and 29 at 305 Euclid Ave.

There is no risk to the public, and members of the campus community can expect to see an increased law enforcement presence in the area during business hours April 28 and 29. Nearby offices have been informed and employees are encouraged to take note that parking in the area may be impacted during the exercise.

The purpose of this exercise is to enhance operational readiness in the event of incidents that would require a law enforcement response. These types of trainings are part of ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to ensure emergency preparedness and public safety.

UK Police routinely work with law enforcement partners to host trainings that strengthen collaborative response efforts.

As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and healthcare. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $1.02 billion research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.
