Admissions Site Offers New Live Chat Feature

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 5, 2012) — Prospective University of Kentucky students can get answers to their questions about the admissions process online in real time, thanks to a new "LiveChat" feature on the university's website.

The new feature allows visitors to initiate a LiveChat session with the Office of Undergraduate Admission from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. beginning today, Monday, Nov 5.

Outside of those hours, visitors will still be able to send their questions, to be answered during business hours.

"We feel, especially during busy times, this is a wonderful way to allow students to reach our office in a whole new way to quickly answer important questions during the admissions process," said Tyler Gayheart, communications manager for UK Enrollment Management. "This feature continues to expand upon our existing outlets for student questions through online and social media channels, which receive inquiries and questions on a daily basis."

The new service adds to the many ways prospective students can contact UK admissions, including by phone, toll-free at 1-866-900-GO-UK, through "Ask the Cat" the virtual adviser on www.applyuk.com, and by email to admissions@uky.edu
