'Bagels and Bach' to Benefit UK Music

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 27, 2014) — The Friends of the University of Kentucky School of Music will present a breakfast of classics to support the university's music students. “Bagels and Bach” will be held 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 1, at the Lakeshore Village Clubhouse, located at 543 Laketower Drive. Proceeds benefit the UK School of Music.

As the name suggests, guests at “Bagels and Bach” will enjoy a light breakfast and a concert of Johann Sebastian Bach works performed by the UK Faculty Brass Quintet.

The UK Faculty Brass Quintet is the in-residence faculty brass quintet comprising the brass faculty and one graduate trumpet student. The ensemble has made appearances at national and international venues while also investing in regularly scheduled state and regional educational outreach performances. The UK brass faculty provides comprehensive study through private instruction, large and small ensemble experiences, chamber music, pedagogy and literature courses, and master classes on trumpet, horn, euphonium, trombone and tuba.

Tickets for "Bagels and Bach" are $25 a person for general admission, $15 for Friends of Music members, and $20 for Lakeshore Village Residents. RSVPs should be emailed to jnorton@email.uky.edu. Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door.
