Deadline for Spring Gatton CBA is Jan. 29th

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 11, 2010) – Just over two weeks remain to register for the spring 2010 edition of the popular Certificate in Business Administration (CBA) program offered by the University of Kentucky Gatton College of Business and Economics.

This unique professional development opportunity utilizes distinguished faculty and guest speakers from the college and combines this expertise with hands-on experience over a 10-session period.  Topics covered include Organizational Design and Environment, Financial Decision Making, Strategic Management, Individual Behavior in Organizations and more.

Specifically geared to people who work full time or who are in graduate or professional school in another field, the Certificate in Business Administration program is offered on Thursday evenings, three hours per session beginning Feb. 4, 2010 and continuing through April 15, with a certificate presentation reception to follow on April 22.  Individuals who attend all of the sessions will earn 27.5 course hours of continuing education credit and a certificate of completion.

Since 2007, nearly 200 people have completed the Gatton CBA program.

Participants have included individuals from a variety of government, educational, health and business organizations.  These include corporate executives and managers, small business owners, hospital administrators, school district administrators, and graduate students from nonbusiness disciplines.

"The course is designed to provide an understanding of business terms, practices, and tools to make informed business decisions," said Merl Hackbart, associate dean for administration and academic affairs.  "The CBA program is open to all interested persons."

The registration fee for the entire 10-week program is $888.
