Degree Applications Go Online

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 1, 2010) − The University of Kentucky's Application for Degree has gone online. All undergraduate and graduate students must fill out this application before they can graduate. The new online system through myUK replaces the old process of completing two cards by hand.

"Accompanying this new self-service are reporting tools developed for college personnel that provide on-demand data on their applicants, as well as a more efficient process overall," said Senior Associate Registrar Jacquie Hager. "In addition, a new website has been developed that provides additional information about graduation such as deadlines to apply, diplomas, how honors are determined, and Commencement."

In addition to using the new website at www.uky.edu/graduate, Hager encourages students to track their progress toward degree completion using APEX, the university's degree planner.

To apply for a degree, log in to myUK and click on the myRecords menu at the top of the Student Services tab. Then click "Apply for a Degree" on the left and follow the instructions. After completing the required information, students will receive an email confirmation.

For undergraduate students, the deadline to apply for a May degree is Nov. 30. The deadline to apply for a December degree is June 30, while the deadline to apply for an August degree is Feb. 28. Deadlines for graduate and professional students are different from these deadlines, and are published each year in the official academic calendar.
