An Evening With Kentucky's Own Randall Cobb
LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 21, 2016) — The Student Activities Board is excited to present an evening that is guaranteed to be a touchdown! Join SAB for a night with Randall Cobb, former Kentucky Wildcat and current Green Bay Packer wide receiver, at 8 p.m. Monday, March 28, in the Singletary Center for the Arts.
Cobb is one of the university’s stand-out athletes. During his freshman year he was named to the SEC All-Freshmen team at quarterback. In his sophomore season, he played mainly wide receiver as well as a significant role in the offense/special teams and quarterback in the "Wildcat" formation. He was also the first player to score a rushing, passing and receiving touchdown in the same game for Kentucky since 2003.
Cobb was drafted in the second round of the 2011 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packers. Since then he has become an impactful playmaker for the team. In 2014 he was selected for the Pro-Bowl. He also holds other awards such as NFL All Purpose Yards Leader in 2012 and 2011 NFL Play of the Year. He will speak on his success as an athlete both collegiately and professionally as well as his potential future in acting.
“The Student Activities Board is excited to bring Randall Cobb back on campus,” Mark Taylor, SAB director of pop culture, said. “Cobb's legacy at UK is truly special, and I encourage all students and the public to come to this event and welcome home one of Kentucky’s favorite sons.”
The event will include a moderated conversation with Cobb, as well as a question and answer session.
Tickets are free for UK students, faculty and staff with a valid UK ID and are $10 for general public. They are available now for pick-up or purchase at the Singletary Center Ticket Office or at scfatickets.com. Students are permitted to purchase up to four tickets with four valid student IDs.
Doors to the event will open at 7:15 p.m. and the event will begin at 8 p.m.
