Published: Jul 16, 2012

LEXINGTON, Ky. (July 16, 2012) — This month the University of Kentucky will begin a series of Twitter chats with experts on everything from university operations to research trends. The first of these chats will provide advice on preventing and handling heat-related illnesses in the wake of this summer's record heatwave.

The heat-related illnesses Twitter chat will feature advice from Dr. Ryan Stanton, medical director for UK HealthCare Good Samaritan Hospital's Emergency Department and an assistant professor of emergency medicine in the UK College of Medicine. Dr. Stanton is a board certified emergency medicine physician.

Dr. Stanton's Twitter chat will be held from 2-3 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, via the university's official Twitter account, @universityofky.

Individuals interested in asking questions on heat-related illnesses should send their questions to www.twitter.com/universityofky between 2 and 3 p.m. July 17. Responses to all questions will be shared with the university's followers. Future UK Twitter chats will be presented on the third Tuesday of each month.
