It’s Not How You Start, But How You Finish
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 7, 2016) — Student Activities Board (SAB) presents From the Streets to the Stage with Monti Washington. Join SAB and Monti Washington at Memorial Hall at 8 p.m. today (Sept. 7) for mind stimulating conversation. Washington will inspire audience members to be great!
Washington started off in poor conditions and faced a number of obstacles that could tear most people down. He will talk about how he overcame the troubles in his life and teach students what mindset they need to be successful in life. Students can see that there is always light at the end of the tunnel and how believing in yourself is key. This event is sponsored by the Pop Culture Committee and is part of the Common Reading Experience.
“I had the pleasure of seeing Monti Washington perform at NACA INational Association for Campus Activities) Nationals and he was very moving,” said Libby Langlois, director of Pop Culture. “I’m excited to see how students react to him speak as his story is one-of-a-kind. I hope when this event is over students will have gained, once again, the motivation to start out the year strong and remember why they are here at the University of Kentucky.”
