Kunc Wins "Kentucky Twilight" to Begin Cross Country Season Strong

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Sophomore Katy Kunc won the individual race at the "Kentucky Twilight" dual meet between the Wildcats and Eastern Kentucky University Colonels on Tuesday evening at Masterson Station Park.
Kunc covered the 4,000-meter course in 14:15.91.
EKU edged the UK women's team 26-31. The No. 22 EKU men defeated UK 21-39.
The Kentucky men were led by transfer Jacob Thompson who placed third overall in 11:54.56 (4k). Freshman Kendall Muhammad placed fourth in 11:55.55.
Thursday's meet was a sort of tune up for both teams. The Wildcats will host the Bluegrass Invitational at Masterson Station Park on Sept. 12.
The UK men are ranked eighth in the Southeast Region, and the women's team is ranked 10th.
EKU's men's team is ranked fourth in the southeast and the women's team is ranked seventh.
