Lexington Trivia Bowl will benefit Parkinson's Research

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 7, 2012) -- A trivia bowl competition will be held Wednesday, Sept. 19, and will allow participants to show their knowledge, win valuable prizes, and enjoy food and drinks while raising money for Parkinson's disease research.

The 2012 Lexington Trivia Bowl, presented in part by Business Lexington, will begin at 7:30 p.m. at The Cellar Bar and Grille, 3256 Landsdowne Dr., Lexington. Trivia Bowl for Parkinson's is a non-profit effort to raise money to support Parkinson's disease research and patient care. All proceeds from this year's event will be donated to UK HealthCare Kentucky Neuroscience Institute and The Parkinson Support Center of Kentucky.

The entry fee for the Bowl is $10 per person and teams of up to six people are allowed. Registration is available online or at the door. The entry fee gives the opportunity to win the Horseshoe Cup Trophy for the winning team and over $500 in cash awards for the other top-ranked teams. The first 150 contestants to arrive will receive a 2012 Lexington Trivia Bowl t-shirt. The event will also feature raffle prizes including, but not limited to, UK basketball tickets, sports memorabilia, and gift certificates to Massage Envy and Savane Silver. Trivia topics will range from current events to music to sports
