Rogers, Craft, Adkisson to Address UK MBA Students

LEXINGTON, Ky. (May 7, 2012) — A pair of distinguished University of Kentucky graduates who each earned degrees from both the Gatton College of Business and Economics and the UK College of Law, James E. Rogers and Joseph W. Craft III, will address current MBA students at 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 8, in the Lexmark Room of the Main Building.

Rogers is the chairman, president and CEO of Duke Energy, while Craft holds the same position in Alliance Holdings, the general partner of Alliance Resource Partners, a major coal producer. The two UK alums will be joined by moderator Dave Adkisson, president and CEO of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. The occasion is the capstone forum for students in the Class of 2012 in Gatton's full-time, one-year MBA program.

According to Harvie Wilkinson, director of MBA Programs and Executive Education in the Gatton College, "The focus of this 90-minute discussion will be corporate responsibility."

Together with Adkisson, a Georgetown College graduate who also holds a master's degree from Harvard University, Rogers and Craft are expected to talk about how they each have nurtured the ideals of corporate responsibility and how these ideals are compatible with their own corporate vision and mission.  More specifically, attendees will hear these executives' personal perspectives on how they deliver a balanced leadership approach in dealing with the many competing interests they serve, including shareholders, customers, employees, and more.

The program is open to undergraduate students, as well as faculty and staff from across campus. Admission is free.
