Top 10 Soprano to Perform With UK Symphony Orchestra

Published: Feb 4, 2013

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 4, 2013) — The University of Kentucky Symphony Orchestra, John Nardolillo, conductor, will be joined by Grammy award-winning American soprano Christine Brewer to celebrate the 200th birthday of Richard Wagner. The concert will take the stage at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, in the Singletary Center for the Arts Concert Hall.

Christine Brewer’s appearances in opera, concert and recital are marked by her own unique timbre, at once warm and brilliant, combined with a vibrant personality and emotional honesty reminiscent of the great sopranos of the past. Named "one of the top 20 sopranos of all time" (BBC Music), her range, golden tone, boundless power and control make her a favorite of the stage and a highly sought-after recording artist, one who is "in her prime and sounding glorious" (Anthony Tommasini, New York Times).

Tickets for the Christine Brewer concert with UK Symphony Orchestra are on sale now and prices range from $45 to $25 depending on seat location. A student ticket price of $15 is available with a valid student ID. A processing fee will be added upon completion of the transaction. Tickets can be purchased by calling the Singletary Center ticket office at (859) 257-4929, visiting online at scfatickets.com, or in person at the venue.

A part of the UK College of Fine Arts, the Singletary Center for the Arts presents and hosts around 400 artistic, cultural and educational events annually for the university community, Lexington community and the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
