UK Alternative Service Breaks' First Compass Gala
LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 21, 2016) — Celebrate the accomplishments of University of Kentucky Alternative Service Breaks (UK ASB) at the Compass Gala, which will be held 7 p.m. Friday, April 29, at the Spring Valley Golf Club.
This inaugural event will serve to raise awareness and funds in support of UK ASB's programs, participants and partners for the 2016-17 year. The gala will feature a dinner and silent auction featuring items reflective of those communities UK ASB serves.
UK ASB offers a variety of service immersions to UK students during spring, winter and summer breaks. Over the course of this year, 15 service immersions involving 186 UK students, faculty and staff have taken place through the program. Founded in 2008 and housed in the Center for Community Outreach (CCO), UK ASB connects students with service projects in communities beyond the borders of Lexington and Kentucky. The program's work providing service experiences that are educational and cultural and promoting active citizenship among UK students, faculty and staff has been recognized at UK and nationally — and will be honored during this one night of celebration.
The gala will be a special time for all alumni of UK ASB, students, faculty and staff, to reconnect. Just as importantly, it will be a time for UK ASB to welcome current and potential new advocates of ASB. All are welcome to attend!
The gala will take place at the Spring Valley Golf Club, located at 2300 Sandersville Rd. Tickets can be purchased for $25 in person at the Student Involvement Ticket Center located in 106 Bowman's Den, over the phone at 859-257-8427 for a $3 fee per order or online here. Please note that all online purchases made through Ticketmaster.com have a per ticket fee.
