UK Athletics and Markey - Gymnastics Pink Meet

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 22, 2011) − This Friday, Feb. 25, you can enjoy top-flight  intercollegiate gymnastics while helping to raise awareness of, and help in the fight against, breast cancer. 

The University of Kentucky Gymnastics team will host its annual Pink Meet.  A portion of all ticket proceeds and donations from the event will benefit breast cancer research, treatment, and education at UK’s Markey Cancer Center.  The Wildcats will take on SEC foe LSU, with a scheduled start time of 7 p.m. in Memorial Coliseum.  Admission is FREE for all UK students, faculty and staff with a UK ID.  Additional guests wishing to attend without a UK ID can purchase $1 tickets if they wear pink to the meet. There will also be several Pink Meet promotional giveaways that night: ·         FREE pink UK Gymnastics backpacks for the first 250 UK fans!

·         FREE pink feather pens for the first 150 kids, 8th grade and under!

·         FREE pink cosmetic bags for the first 100 females!

·         One lucky fan will win a FREE pink iPod Shuffle! 

·         The junior captains will sign autographs after the meet!
