UK Core Class Takes Photography Skills 'From Street to Studio'
LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 30, 2012) — Around 150 University of Kentucky students explored the world of photography over the spring semester in the general education course "Introduction to Photography Literacy" presented by the Department of Art in the UK College of Fine Arts.
The students are now sharing their newly acquired eye for the art of photography in the exhibition "From Street to Studio" through May 3, at the Tuska Center for Contemporary Art, located in the UK Fine Arts Building. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
The "Introduction to Photography Literacy" class is part of UK Core and led by Robert Dickes, a lecturer in photography. UK Core, the university's new general education curriculum, aims to prepare students with the critical thinking skills they need to succeed in a competitive global economy.
