LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 22, 2014) – Leaping into the unknown, telling stories, celebrating life, the dance students of University of Kentucky Department of Theatre will take center stage in the third annual "Winter Dance Concert: (Re)Actions" Jan. 31-Feb. 2, at Guignol Theatre.
"(Re)Actions" includes performances by 20 UK dance minors performing work from choreographers Gus Giordano, Stephanie Harris and Theresa Bautista; Visiting Lecturer of Dance Ariella Brown; and Susie Thiel, the director of the UK Dance Program.
"(Re)Actions" will be presented 7:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 31, and Saturday, Feb. 1, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 2, at Guignol Theatre. Admission is $10 for students and $15 for general public. The UK Department of Theatre at UK College of Fine Arts has played an active role in the performance scene in Central Kentucky for more than 100 years. Students in the program get hands-on training and one-on-one mentorship from a renowned professional theatre faculty. The liberal arts focus of their bachelor's degree program is coupled with ongoing career counseling to ensure a successful transition from campus to professional life.
