UK Theatre Set to Time Travel With 'On the Verge'
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 26, 2012) — The University of Kentucky Department of Theatre is ready to transport audiences through time with "On the Verge (Or the Geography of Yearning)." The play will run Nov. 29-Dec. 9, at the Guignol Theatre.
In "On the Verge," by Eric Overmyer, three women seek adventure and time travel in a modern quirky comedy. From the 19th century to 1955, the future unfolds for these three explorers through twisting and turning escapades.
"On the Verge" takes the stage 7:30 p.m., Nov. 29-30, Dec. 1 and 6-8, and 2 p.m., Dec. 9. Tickets are $15 for general admission and $10 for students. The UK Department of Theatre at UK College of Fine Arts has played an active role in the performance scene in Central Kentucky for more than 100 years. Students in the program get hands-on training and one-on-one mentorship from a renowned professional theatre faculty.
