University Drive Traffic Impact to Start Jan. 18

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 15, 2016) — Starting on Monday, Jan. 18, traffic on University Drive on the University of Kentucky campus will be impacted by electrical infrastructure work taking place in the median. This project is scheduled to last until mid-May 2016.

Through traffic will be maintained at all times, with flagmen facilitating two-way vehicle traffic. Work will primarily take place between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

Both directions of University Drive traffic will be shifted to the right as needed between work hours and shifted back at the end of each day’s shift. The shift will include a dedicated bicycle lane. No daily lane closures will occur during inclement weather.

As many as five parking spaces may be temporarily unavailable during the project, on an as-needed basis.

The infrastructure work will not cause any planned deviations to campus or Lextran buses traveling on University Drive. However, riders should allow extra time in the event of traffic delays.

Members of the university community should allow extra time when traveling this section of campus.
