Virtual Career Fair Offered to Students in SEC, ACC
LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 2, 2013) — Beginning today, students and alumni of the University of Kentucky are encouraged to participate in the SEC and ACC Universities Virtual Career Fair being held online through Thursday, April 4. UK is one of 23 SEC and ACC schools participating in the virtual career fair featuring more than 60 employers.
Employers participating in the virtual career fair are offering full-time jobs, internships and co-op opportunities, and represent such fields as engineering, technology, business, accounting, marketing, sales, science, human resources and more.
Students and alumni interested in participating in the SEC and ACC Virtual Career Fair can upload their résumé to the fair website presented by CareerEco, a virtual recruiting platform and talent community. Once uploaded, employers can access and review the résumés to select potential employees they wish to chat with via an instant message or webcam session. The online career fair also gives employers and students an extended period of time to communicate without having to be physically present for two days.
"Students, alumni, and employers are finding the Virtual Career Fair to be an excellent opportunity to interact in an effective, time-efficient way," said Gayle Oliver-Plath, CEO and founder of CareerEco. "It's a unique opportunity to potentially get hired by one of 60+ forward-thinking and resourceful employers who are leveraging the power of technology for the benefit of all."
