WRFL Presents: The Lexington Tattoo Project

LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 27, 2014) — WRFL 88.1 FM hosts the Lexington Tattoo Project at 7 p.m. Friday, March 28, in the Center Theater of the UK Student Center. The event is free and open to the public.

Project organizers, Kurt Gohde and Kremena Todorova, will speak about their inspiration for the project and their recently released book. There will be live DJs and copies of the book available for purchase.

The Lexington Tattoo Project brought together over 200 local residents who offered themselves as canvases by having parts of the poem “The _______ of the Universe: A Love Story” by Bianca Spriggs tattooed onto their bodies. Spriggs’ poem celebrates the city of Lexington.  When combined, all 496 words of the poem are imprinted onto the bodies of those who participated.
