Wyatt Elected to Second Term as President of Public Health Accrediting Body

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 22, 2010) −  At its fall 2010 meeting, the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH) elected Stephen W. Wyatt, dean of the University of Kentucky’s College of Public Health, to a second term as president of CEPH for 2011. Dean Wyatt represents the Association of Schools of Public Health on the Board of Councilors of CEPH, and is serving as president for 2010. CEPH is the Department of Education-designated entity that accredits schools and programs of public health in the United States, and schools/programs in the international setting. 

Wyatt is a professor in the Department of Preventive Medicine and Environmental Health in the College of Public Health, and faculty in UK’s Markey Cancer Center. He has served as dean since 2004, when the College was formed. Prior to his appointment at UK, Wyatt was a Commissioned Officer in the U.S. Public Health Service, where he held senior leadership positions at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Health Resources and Services Administration.
