Coffee House Series Returns With Justin Paul Lewis

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Jan. 24, 2013) — Calling all hipsters, coffee addicts and acoustic music lovers! Student Activities Board’s Coffee House series returns 7 p.m. tonight, Jan. 24, at Commons Starbucks featuring the music of Justin Paul Lewis. A limited number of tall handcrafted Starbucks beverages will be given away to students who attend the event.

Louisville native and self-proclaimed "old soul," Justin Paul Lewis is a folk/soul singer inspired by the vinyl records that surrounded him as a child. He independently released “Man in Motion” in 2009, garnering notoriety for his honest songwriting and rough-yet-pure voice. Lewis is currently working with Ben Sollee on his first official release.

“Lewis is a real talent and we’re so excited to have him on campus,” said Derek Operle, SAB director of concerts. “We love showcasing just how talented our regional artists are.”

The Coffee House series is an acoustic and intimate performance featuring regional artists. Past artists include Andrea Davidson, Andrew Harlan and Jessica Adkins.

SAB brings more than 100 entertaining educational and enriching programs that are reflective of contemporary issues and trends to the University of Kentucky annually. These programs are designed to enhance the college experience for students, faculty, staff, and the greater Lexington community.
