Faculty Can Apply for UK CCTS-West Virginia CTSI Joint Pilot Project Funding

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 7, 2012) — The University of Kentucky Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CCTS) announces, in partnership with the West Virginia Clinical and Translational Science Institute (WVCTSI), the availability of pilot project funding for clinical and translational research. The awards are for collaborative efforts between faculty at UK and WVCTSI institutions (West Virginia University, Charleston Area Medical Center (CAMC), WVU - Charleston and West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine).

First preference for pilot project funding will go to projects that address health and health care issues relevant to the WVCTSI and UK CCTS, and that are likely to lead to longer-term collaborative efforts. This field includes not only biomedical, clinical and population research, but also research in areas that enhance clinical and translational research such as biomedical informatics, biostatistics research and community-based projects.

All applications must have co-principal investigators, with one being a faculty member affiliated with a West Virginia Institution, and one from UK. Projects must be clinical or translational in nature. All faculty members with full-time appointments, regardless of rank, are eligible to apply.

The application deadline for pilot project funding is March 1, 2012.
