UK College of Medicine Celebrates Reunion Weekend
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Oct. 25, 2011) — University of Kentucky College of Medicine alumni and family return to Lexington this weekend for the college’s annual Alumni Reunion & Family Weekend. Sponsored by the UK Medical Alumni Association and UK HealthCare, the weekend offers a chance for the college’s alumni, faculty, staff and friends to reminisce and reunite for a celebration of UK College of Medicine.
“Our alumni are valued members of our college community,” said Dr. Frederick C. de Beer, dean of the College of Medicine and vice president for clinical academic affairs. “We are looking forward to welcoming our alumni and their families back to our college this weekend to celebrate where we have been, where we are and where we are going.”
Weekend festivities include a variety of classic Kentucky events such as: A horse farm tour, an afternoon at Keeneland Race Course, and a UK Wildcats Tailgate Party and Football Game.
Alumni Reunion & Family Weekend attendees will also have the chance to participate in events meant to celebrate UK College of Medicine including: A Mini-Day at Medical School, a tour of the medical campus, and a “Taste of Kentucky” Celebration at the Hilton Lexington/Downtown, where three Distinguished Alumni Award recipients will be named. In addition, there will be an exclusive Leadership Circle Reception.
