Volunteers Needed for COVID Booster Vaccination Clinic
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 15, 2021) — UK HealthCare Pharmacy Services is accepting applications for volunteer vaccination clinic staff, in anticipation of the CDC decision on recommending third-dose booster COVID-19 vaccinations for all adults and children over age 12.
Those who wish to volunteer with the vaccination effort should fill out the survey below. Those who are licensed to vaccinate are needed, as are volunteers who can fill other roles, such as registration and wayfinding. Only UK HealthCare and Eastern State employees, as well as faculty, staff and students of the colleges of Medicine, Pharmacy, Nursing, Dentistry and Health Sciences are eligible to volunteer at this time.
Once you have filled out the survey, you will receive additional communications, including a link to the vaccination clinic schedule where you can select the shifts you would like to work should the FDA recommend the third-dose boosters for the general public.
Clinic times and locations have not yet been determined.
The FDA meets on Friday, Sept. 17, to discuss the potential need for third-dose boosters and a recommendation is expected soon after. More decisions will be made here at UK once that recommendation has been made.
