Capilouto Asks for Input on 2nd Draft of UK Strategic Plan
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Sept. 23, 2021) — On the afternoon of Thursday, Sept. 23, University of Kentucky President Eli Capilouto shared the second draft of the proposed strategic plan with the campus community. You can read that message below.
Community members,
Today, we are circulating a second draft of our proposed Strategic Plan for your review and feedback.
Read the new draft and provide feedback about the plan or a specific portion of it.
We ask that you provide feedback, if you are interested in doing so, by noon on Wednesday, Sept. 29.
Your feedback to the first draft of the plan was important.
For example, in listening to you, and through continued engagement with elected faculty in particular, we’ve added more explicit language in the plan around our shared responsibilities in ensuring student success and in continuing our efforts to expand transparency and accountability initiatives. More specifically, we have received input from faculty, staff and students campus-wide in addition to hearing from specific groups and units throughout the campus. We have reviewed carefully all input and made appropriate edits to the original document based on the input.
For this, I thank you.
Your continued review and feedback is critical now, too.
Our plan is to review a final draft, including the next round of comments from the campus, and then submit it to our Board of Trustees for consideration at their retreat, Oct. 14-15. The proposed plan will be posted on the Board of Trustees website several days before the retreat. We already are preparing an in-depth discussion with the board around the exciting opportunities and formidable challenges we face as a university committed to advancing Kentucky.
I remain deeply appreciative of your involvement in this process and your continued commitment to UK and the state we serve.
Thank you.
Eli Capilouto
President
