LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 7, 2022) — The Office for Student Success is excited to share that the Stuckert Career Center, in collaboration with Engineering Career & Co-Op Office and the Graham Career Management Office in the Gatton College of Business and Economics, will host several spring semester career fairs. These events are open to undergraduate and graduate students.

The Engineering, Computer Science and STEM Career Fair will take place noon-4 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 15. The Business, Communications, Liberal Arts and All Majors Career Fair is 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, and the All Majors Virtual Internship and Career Fair is from 2-6 p.m. Feb. 24.

The career fairs are wonderful opportunities for students to connect with more than 150 employers. All students, no matter where they are in their college career, are encouraged to participate in the career fairs.

Here are eight things you can do to help you prepare for the career fairs:

  1. Update and upload resume to your Handshake account.
  2. Make your Handshake account profile public.
  3. Do some career fair prep.
  4. Research employers.
  5. Dress for success.
  6. If it is virtual, schedule virtual career sessions with employers.
  7. Connect with recruiters on LinkedIn.
  8. Develop and practice your Elevator Pitch.

As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and health care. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $476.5 million research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.

In 2022, UK was ranked by Forbes as one of the “Best Employers for New Grads” and named a “Diversity Champion” by INSIGHT into Diversity, a testament to our commitment to advance Kentucky and create a community of belonging for everyone. While our mission looks different in many ways than it did in 1865, the vision of service to our Commonwealth and the world remains the same. We are the University for Kentucky.
