LEXINGTON, Ky, (March. 3, 2023) — The University of Kentucky is gearing up to welcome potential Wildcats and their families to campus for the 2023 Admitted Student Days. Over the next four weeks, hundreds of admitted students will be visiting campus to discover if UK can become their home away from home.

So how do members of the UK community play a part in these events? Aside from the financial perspective, how a campus “feels” is the second leading factor on where a student chooses to pursue their academic journey.

If you see an admitted student and their family, stop, say hi and welcome them to our campus. Let’s show the new members of our community what is “Wildly Possible” at UK.

Dates for 2023 Admission Student Days include:

  • March 3
  • March 10
  • March 24
  • March 31
  • April 3
  • April 7
  • April 10
  • April 21

In addition to Admitted Students Days, Merit Day 2023, an early orientation for high-achieving students who have been admitted to UK for Fall 2023, is right around the corner. Merit Day will take place in-person this year on three Saturdays in March — March 4, 18 and 25.

As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and health care. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $476.5 million research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.

In 2022, UK was ranked by Forbes as one of the “Best Employers for New Grads” and named a “Diversity Champion” by INSIGHT into Diversity, a testament to our commitment to advance Kentucky and create a community of belonging for everyone. While our mission looks different in many ways than it did in 1865, the vision of service to our Commonwealth and the world remains the same. We are the University for Kentucky.
