UK reminding community of support and resources for LGBTQ+ students, employees

LEXINGTON, Ky. (March 27, 2023) — Creating community and fostering diversity — of identity, background, views and perspective — in our classrooms, offices, hospitals and clinics is critical to advancing Kentucky.

More points of view and perspectives; more talent and interests, different in gender and orientation, race and ethnicity, belief and culture, geography and background.

We are proud of this diverse community, our community.

To our LGBTQ+ students and employees: we support you and are here for you. We are sharing resources across campus dedicated to your success and well-being, like we do for all members of our community.

Additional resources and support for all.

Bringing together many people in one community — that is how we advance Kentucky. That is our continued commitment.

As the state’s flagship, land-grant institution, the University of Kentucky exists to advance the Commonwealth. We do that by preparing the next generation of leaders — placing students at the heart of everything we do — and transforming the lives of Kentuckians through education, research and creative work, service and health care. We pride ourselves on being a catalyst for breakthroughs and a force for healing, a place where ingenuity unfolds. It's all made possible by our people — visionaries, disruptors and pioneers — who make up 200 academic programs, a $476.5 million research and development enterprise and a world-class medical center, all on one campus.
