UK to Host 70th annual College Business Management Institute Conference
LEXINGTON, Ky. (April 24, 2023) — Registration is now open for the 70th annual College Business Management Institute (CBMI) conference, co-sponsored by the Southern Association of College and University Business Officers (SACUBO) and the University of Kentucky. The meeting will be held July 23-28 at the University of Kentucky, which has been the host since its inception.
The CBMI conference offers an intensive course of study in business and financial management for administrators and employees of colleges and universities, both large and small, public and private. This year, 60 courses ranging from entry-level to advanced will be taught by distinguished faculty who are practicing administrators and leaders in their fields, presenting a unique opportunity for attendees to learn from the industry's best.
New faculty members and courses are added every year to provide quality and relevant information as the industry of college business continues to advance. One such faculty member is Heath Price, the associate vice president for partnerships at UK, who will teach Partnerships as a Cornerstone of Serving Students and Creating Meaningful Experiences.
“I am thrilled to be a part of the 70th CBMI and to have the opportunity to connect with fellow participants and the dedicated event leaders.” said Price. “As we work toward investing in our colleagues across campus, this event presents an excellent opportunity to exchange ideas with higher education leaders and continually strive for progress.”
Participants attend the CBMI conference for one week of instruction each summer for three years to earn a certificate of completion, earn up to 28 hours of CPE, and develop professional relationships with colleagues at other institutions. In addition, individuals will gain a broader perspective of higher education business administration and discuss the latest issues and topics in higher education.
The conference allows attendees to connect with professionals in their departments from across the country, participate in the ambassador program as mentors or mentees, and register for a specialty brunch and tour of Keeneland or the Lexington Brewing Company.
