Nominate 'Teachers Who Made a Difference' by Dec. 31
LEXINGTON, Ky. (Nov. 3, 2023) — The University of Kentucky College of Education is accepting nominations for the 2024 Teachers Who Made a Difference Program.

“Rather than a competition, this is simply a chance to recognize an educator who has made a positive difference in your life,” said Mary Ann Vimont, associate professor and director of alumni for the College of Education.
Any type of educator can be nominated, including teachers, coaches, professors, school administrators and more. They do not need to be graduates of UK or residents of the Commonwealth of Kentucky. There is no specific selection process for the program. The number of honorees to be recognized is limited, so organizers ask that nominators limit recognitions to one educator per year.
Sponsored by private donations, the event was founded by Vimont in 1998.
“Through the years, a common thread we have seen among nominations is that they always say, ‘this teacher believed in me, they supported me, and they made me think I could do it.’ As a college that prepares teachers for their careers, we felt it would be fitting to create a platform for people to show their gratitude,” Vimont said.
Nominated teachers will be invited to a recognition ceremony, scheduled to take place Saturday, March 2, at the Kroger Field Longship Club.
