‘UK at the Half’: Freshman musician earns prestigious international honor

LEXINGTON, Ky. (Feb. 6, 2025) — Adrianna Dick, a University of Kentucky freshman music education major, has been awarded the prestigious International Trumpet Guild’s (ITG) Young Artist Award. On this edition of “UK at the Half,” she talks about how it feels to be only one of four to receive the honor, and the musical path that led her to UK.

She was inspired to major in music education by her high school band directors.

“In high school I had the most amazing band directors and they were so supportive of me and all of my goals and they really helped me like get to where I am today in like terms of like support,” Dick said.
