UKPD to host law enforcement training on June 18
LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 17, 2025) — As part of a regularly scheduled federal training program, the University of Kentucky Police Department will host a tactical law enforcement exercise Wednesday, June 18, at 620 S. Broadway.
There is no risk to the public, and members of the campus community can expect to see an increased law enforcement presence in the area during business hours June 18. Nearby offices have been informed and employees are encouraged to take note that parking in this area may be impacted during the exercise.
The purpose of this exercise is to enhance operational readiness in the event of incidents that would require a tactical response within the United States. These types of trainings are part of ongoing efforts by law enforcement agencies to ensure emergency preparedness and public safety.
UK Police routinely work with law enforcement partners to host trainings that strengthen collaborative response efforts.
